Dear Fellow Competitor,
Our 2012 schedule will be on the 2nd and 4th Sundays from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM from September thru April. The following policy governs: The Wind Chill factor can not be below 40 degrees, Not Raining or Not Snowing. If there was snow on the ground we will use black targets instead of white.May thru August we will be shooting on Wednesday's from 5:30 PM till dusk. The following policy governs: There is no shooting if it is Raining.First time shooting for the year is free, afterwards the fee for shooting is $1.00 per string of 20.During the last relay of shooting we shoot a “Free For All” in which every one present gets on line and shoots the target of their choice. The fun part of this is that just as you are ready to take your shot the target you are aiming at falls because someone beat you to it so you go to the next one and hope to beat out the others for the shot. In review of our Silhouette Shooting Program we shoot in 4 categories, Senior Offhand, Senior Benchrest, Junior Offhand and Junior Benchrest. We shoot 5 Chickens, 5 Pigs, 5 Turkeys and 5 Rams. There is a 15 second prep period before each string of 5 fired in 2½ minutes. The time for shooting all 20 targets including setting the targets back up for the next relay usually takes 30 minutes. We now have a set of 5 Big Bore Silhouettes which we will be setting up in the future. The distances for these will be 150 for Chickens & Pigs & 200 yards for Turkeys & rams. No calibers below 30 and only round nose or solid lead bullets. We will be making more targets in the future with hopes of having 4 sets of 5.There are safety rules that will be reviewed at the first match in January, May & September.
